We will gather for an exciting evening together for our program year wrap-up! We begin at 5:30 PM with a short, pre-program birding hike at W.R Bagley Nature Area, meeting at the parking lot near the pond along W St. Marie Street.
To sweeten our May program time, you are invited to bring a dessert to share for our program night dessert potluck!
Then, local artist and author Sam Zimmerman will join us at 7 PM to share his inspiration for creating “Summering Loon,” which was featured on the cover of the American Birding Association’s January magazine edition celebrating the “Bird of the Year,” the Common Loon. His presentation will also highlight how different bird relatives are featured in his ongoing work, which includes the newly released bilingual (Ojibwe/English) children’s book titled, How the Birds Got their Songs. After the program, members are invited to remain for a brief annual meeting with reports and an election of board members. Join us as we conclude our 2024-25 season of programs with sugar and in style!
