January Meeting-Motus Wildlife Tracking Systems and Minnesota Conservation Efforts with Sarah Hewitt

Senior Conservation Manager with Audubon Upper Mississippi River (UMR), Sarah Hewitt, will present on the expansion of the Motus Wildlife Tracking System in Minnesota in order to enhance our understanding of bird migration and habitat use. Such efforts, along with reinstating the volunteer-led MN Marshbird Survey and Conservation Ranching Program, were begun through Audubon’s Wings Over Working Lands Initiative, a national habitat conservation strategy aimed at connecting networks of resilient land and water across the continent, with an emphasis on collaborations with private landowners.
